This month there are two opportunities to view meteor showers. I have to tell you, I had the good fortune to watch the Perseid showers in August, something I have never done before. It was the highlight of the summer, the view so clear and the meteors so bright and close, my family was awe struck. We do have ideal viewing for celestial events here and it is something I hope never to miss again. I have listed the two below, the first October 7th, 8th and 9th, and the second October 21st. This shower produces a peak rate of 20 yellow and green meteors per hour, which are fast moving at 41.6 miles per second and are known to produce fireballs.
